Anderson Driving School FAQ’s
Are all the driving schools listed on your website fully-accredited by the North Carolina DMV to offer driver training courses in North Carolina?
The driving school directory on our website is for your convenience only, and we cannot absolutely guarantee that every driving school listed is currently licensed to offer driving training courses in North Carolina.  We suggest you contact the North Carolina DMV to make sure a particular driving school is certified before you sign up to take their driver training course.
Do I have to take a behind-the-wheel training course? Can't my parents just give me my driver training?
There are some states that do permit parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required driver training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for attending a professionally-taught behind-the-wheel training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding behind-the-wheel training.
I don't know how to drive using a stick-shift. Will Anderson Driving School have an automatic-shift car available that I can use for my driver training?
Since you're enrolling in a Asheville North Carolina driver training class, chances are good that you don't know how to drive either a stick-shift OR an automatic!  However, you should let Anderson Driving School know what your preference is before registering for their driver class.  That way you'll know for sure they will accommodate you.
I don't live anywhere near a city. There are unpaved roads and rugged terrain all around my house. How do I know if Anderson Driving School will train me on how to drive in a rural area like where I live and not just teach me how to drive in a town-or city-type environment?
Since Anderson Driving School is a local driver training company in your area, it's a safe bet that Anderson Driving School will be motivated (or perhaps required) to teach its local customers how to drive on bumpy terrain.  If you want to make certain, however, you may want to call Anderson Driving School to find out exactly what's included in their driver training course before you register with them.
I just turned 14 years old. Am I eligible to receive my instruction permit in North Carolina?
Probably not.  The minimum age requirement for holding an instruction permit in most states is 15 1/2.  You should contact the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driver training institute such as Anderson Driving School to find out more information about the minimum age requirement in North Carolina.
Will I be required to register for both a drivers education classroom or online course and a behind-the-wheel training course in Asheville North Carolina?
It depends on which state you live in, but many states now require new teen-aged drivers to enroll in both a drivers education course as well as a driver training course.
North Carolina's DMV has told me that I need to take a behind-the-wheel training course. Do you know if Anderson Driving School offers this course or not?
Anderson Driving School does offer the behind-the-wheel training course that North Carolina requires all new teen-aged drivers to take.  For more information about the courses Anderson Driving School offers, we recommend that you contact Anderson Driving School directly.
Do I have to take drivers education to get a North Carolina driver's license?
Drivers education requirements vary depending on which state you live in, but you should be aware that most states require new, teen-aged drivers to enroll in both a behind-the-wheel training course in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course.  You may wish to contact the North Carolina DMV to find out exactly what requirements you will need to satisfy in order to obtain your first driver's license.
Is it necessary for me to complete a driver training course in order to get my first North Carolina driver's license?
Yes, it is.  All teen-aged drivers applying for their first driver's license in North Carolina are required to take a state-approved driver training course.
Do I need to have my instruction permit before I sign up to take a behind-the-wheel training course like the one that Anderson Driving School offers?
You will need to contact Anderson Driving School or the North Carolina DMV to find out if you are allowed to sign up with a driver training school like Anderson Driving School before receiving your North Carolina instruction permit.
