United Driving School FAQ’s
United Driving School's address and phone number is listed on your webpage. How can I find out if it is a licensed driver training school in California?
Even though we provide a list of behind-the-wheel training schools on our website, we have no way of knowing for sure as to whether or not a particular school is certified by the California DMV to offer driver training courses.  We strongly suggest that you contact United Driving School directly or check with the California DMV to find out for sure if United Driving School is a licensed school.
Will the California DMV allow my parents to supervise my driving practice instead of requiring me to take a behind-the-wheel training course at a state-approved driving school?
Possibly.  Some states will allow your parents to supervise your driving practice in place of taking a behind-the-wheel driving course with a professional driving instructor.  You will need to contact the California DMV to find out if your driver training may be done by your parents in California.
What happens if I don't know how to drive a manual-shift vehicle? Will United Driving School allow me to do my driver training with an automatic-shift vehicle?
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating any type of automobile--manual-shift or automatic-shift!  However, if you prefer to complete your driver training using an automatic-shift vehicle, you should contact United Driving School and inform them before you enroll in their behind-the-wheel training course.  That way you will know for certain if they will accommodate you.
What happens to those of us who live in a remote area? Will United Driving School include instruction on how to drive on dirt roads, mountain roads, and other bumpy terrain?
If you live in a remote location, there is a high probability that a local driver training school like United Driving School will either want--or even be required--to tailor their instruction towards driving safely in your particular locale.
Can I apply for my California learner's permit once I turn 14?
Most likely, no.  Most states have set the minimum age to obtain an instruction permit at 15 or 15½.  You may want to contact the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driver training school like United Driving School to learn more about the minimum age requirement in California.
Do you know if the laws in California require new teen-aged drivers to enroll in a driver training course in addition to a driver ed classroom or online course?
The laws vary from state to state, but many states do require you to register for a behind-the-wheel training course with "hands-on" practice in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course.
California law says that I must successfully complete a behind-the-wheel training course in order to get licensed to drive in San Gabriel California. Is this something that United Driving School can help me with?
Yes, United Driving School offers the California-approved behind-the-wheel training course.  For more information about their classes and instruction schedule, please contact United Driving School directly.
I live in San Gabriel California. What requirements must I meet to be able to get my first California driver's license?
It depends on the particular laws of California, but most states require teen-aged first-time license applicants to successfully complete both a drivers education classroom course and a driver training course.  United Driving School may offer courses which would meet the behind-the-wheel training requirement, however you will need to contact them directly to find out exactly what types of courses they offer.
Do I have to take a San Gabriel California behind-the-wheel training course in order to get a driver's license?
Yes.  All drivers in California must successfully complete an approved behind-the-wheel training course in order to be licensed to operate a motor vehicle.  Please contact United Driving School for information on the types of driver training courses they offer in San Gabriel California.
Is it okay for me to enroll in a driver training class in California before I receive my California instruction permit to drive?
Probably not.  Most states require first-time drivers to have their instruction permit before they are allowed to enroll in a behind-the-wheel training program.  You should contact a driving instruction company like United Driving School and request more information.
